Center for the Homeless

Our innovative service model offers homeless families and individuals an on-site structured, step-by-step process to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. Everything that goes on in the Center serves to further our mission, which is threefold: Break the cycle of homelessness, Bring together disparate groups so that each can discover the worth, dignity and potential of the other, and to Pioneer a service model worthy of replication.

Food Bank of Northern Indiana

In May 1993, United Religious Community of St. Joseph County’s Hunger Education Task Force accepted the challenge of reestablishing food banking services in north central Indiana. In 2006, our organization’s name was changed to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana serving Elkhart, LaPorte, Kosciusko, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph Counties.

Hope Ministries

The key to understanding Hope's vision is to understand our view of the root cause of chronic patterns of unhealthy choices. That cause is pain. Not physical pain, but rather the deep hurt, emptiness, regret and grief caused by traumatic experiences and environments of people’s pasts. Hope's vision, therefore, is to create a community in which hurting people find healing. We know that without healing, their thinking and the choices they make will not change. People cannot engage in a process of healing and transformation if they lack food, shelter or basic health care. So Hope provides these basic needs for a period of time to give people the chance to heal, transform and thrive.

Imani Unidad

The primary purpose of this charitable, not for profit organization is to provide HIV/STD and substance abuse prevention, education and advocacy through community efforts. In achieving this purpose, the organization will include HIV positive and African American community members in decision making, education, advocacy, service delivery, public relations, research and leadership.

The Mission of Indiana Legal Services, Inc. is to use our resources to provide poor people with a wide variety of aggressive, quality legal services which will effectively help them to gain equal access to the courts; empower them to control their lives; and impact on the major causes and effects of poverty.

La Casa de Amistad

To empower the Latino/Hispanic community within Michiana by providing educational, cultural, and advocacy services in a welcoming bilingual environment. La Casa de Amistad offers vital educational and lifeskills based programming for the Hispanic/Latino community and its neighbors in Michiana.

Real Services, Inc.

St. Margaret's House is a day center committed to the gospel value of hospitality as reflected in Matthew 25: 35-36. St. Margaret's House improves the lives of women and children by providing individual attention to their immediate needs, breaking the bonds of isolation and helping them acquire skills to better their lives.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County is a Catholic lay organization with a long history of service to neighbors in need. We offer real support such as food, clothing and household necessities as well as emotional and spiritual support through one-on-one interactions with those who are suffering.

Stone Soup Community

Stone Soup Community offers crisis and long-term services to anyone in St. Joseph County. Stone Soup Community places an emphasis on partnering and networking. For this reason, our offices are located at agencies and churches that have food pantries and other outreach services. Our goal is to offer patrons the most comprehensive and holistic services possible so that clients can move toward self-reliance and out of the cycle of meeting basic needs on an emergency basis.

Women's Care Center

Women's Care Center provides free, confidential counseling, support and education to women facing unplanned pregnancies. We serve 25,000 women annually from 22 centers in 7 states, including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio & Wisconsin.
