If you’re currently enrolled at an IU campus, you can take one or more online classes through your campus of enrollment or through another IU campus.
- Register for an online undergraduate or graduate class offered through my campus of enrollment.
- Register through One.IU the same way you would register for any other course offered through your campus of enrollment.
- Register for an online undergraduate course that is offered through an IU campus other than my campus of enrollment and that does not appear in my campus's schedule of classes.
- Contact the campus that offers the course to fill out an intercampus transfer form. When you fill out the form, be sure to mark that the transfer is "visiting." You may take classes from multiple campuses.
- If you take online classes from multiple campuses, you must fill out an intercampus transfer form for each campus other than your campus of enrollment. In addition, you may need to fill out an intercampus transfer form each semester you register for online classes at a campus other than your campus of enrollment.
- If you’re not a current IU student, you can enroll in an online class as a nondegree student.
- Non-degree or visiting student
- If you want to enroll in an online degree or certificate program, you must apply for admission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Like any on-campus course, you will have a fairly fixed schedule of activities and assignments to complete for each week/unit. The days/times that you plan to accomplish that work are, however, dependent on your own flexibility. Due dates are usually set to accommodate working professionals—i.e. giving several days to a week between deadlines.
In the event that an instructor has a scheduled online event for the class (i.e. a scheduled test review session), it's our practice to hold those sessions at least twice to accommodate student schedules, and also to record the session so that those who cannot attend can have access to the same information.
Our courses use a variety of assessment methods including projects, papers, forums, and quizzes. For exams, instructors may utilize our Tests tool (a Sakai learning management product) or may require that students take an exam in the physical presence of a proctor. If you are required to use a proctor, your instructor can guide you in finding an appropriate approved proctor.

Course materials requirements are directly available from your Class Schedule in your Student Center in One.IU. No additional login will be required.
