You have been admitted to the University as a degree-seeking student. However, students with a cumulative GPA of 2.49 or lower, a GED score below 620 or a TASC score below 669 at time of admission are entered into an exploratory degree plan and required to successfully complete the Guided Pathways Academy.
You have been admitted as an undecided student in the University Division. Once you complete the Guided Pathways Academy program successfully, you may enter into any degree program in which you are interested and remain eligible. Program participants will have the opportunity to explore majors and careers during the Academy program; your coursework will count toward meeting IU South Bend’s general education requirements.
Students whose final GPA rises above 2.5 will be excused from participation, once the Office of Admissions has your final high school and/or college transcripts. However, students who were eligible at the time of admission are still welcome to participate even if the GPA rises above 2.5. Students who meet this criteria and choose to participate in the Academy will be considered for a faster pathway to chosen major.

There are no additional fees for participation in this program. You will pay tuition and fees according to your residency classification and course selection.
Students may enroll as part-time (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester) or full-time students (up to a maximum of 13 credits per semester); however, students will be expected to participate in a set of co-curricular activities in order to successfully complete the program. Exemptions for participation in the program and/or individual activities will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

In order to qualify for financial aid you must file your FAFSA by the dates stipulated. For more information, please see our Financial Aid website or contact a Financial Aid counselor: https://students.iusb.edu/financial-aid/index.html. You will learn more about how to manage your financial aid and other financial matters during the Guided Pathways Academy program.
In order to continue with a degree program at IU South Bend, you must successfully complete the Guided Pathways Academy program. Withdrawing from the University after the first week of classes may carry financial penalties. Course incompletion may impact financial aid status, as well.
