The Indiana 21^st Century Scholarship Program is an early commitment college promise program funded by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE), off ering income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana two-year and/or four-year higher education institution. 

All 7^th–and 8^th graders are eligible to enroll provided they meet the income threshold and sign a pledge to complete high school with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. There is no test score requirement. Students must apply by June 30 of their 8 grade year.

ScholarTrack is an online service for students who have filed a FAFSA as residents of the state of Indiana.

The ScholarTrack site allows you to:

• See any issues with your FAFSA that could prevent you from receiving state aid so that you can make necessary changes.
• View your state grant award amount.
• View your state grant history.
• View your grant application, which includes information from your FAFSA, your diploma type, your 21^st Century Scholar status, National Guard status, and school of choice.
• Update your school of choice. Please make sure the school you are attending is listed as we will only send your grant information to that school.

Income level may have changed between sign up and entering the college.

They would have received a one year O'Bannon. You didn't fulfill your obligations via ScholarTrack and therefore were not eligible for the scholarship.

You need to have the transcripts sent to the 21^st Scholars office. It can be done electronically via ScholarTrack.

The Success Coaches at the Titan Success Center. 

There are five requirements that all scholars have to meet each year:

1. Earn 30 credits per academic year with a minimum grade of D or higher for each course
2. Full-time status (minimum 12 credits per semester)
3. File your FAFSA on-time each year (by April 15 )
4. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
5. Be a good citizen. 

The IU 21^st Century Scholarship covers 100% tuition and mandatory fees (e.g., activity, repair and rehabilitation fee, transportation, technology, and health).

The IU 21^st Century Scholarship does NOT cover summer tuition and mandatory fee, on-campus room/board, academic program or department fee, first-year orientation fee, fraternity/sorority fee (if applicable), "non-IU" study abroad program, and/or other miscellaneous fees associated with your department. However, you can utilize student loans to off set this cost.

   • Yes. Your TO DO LIST items will need to be processed and completed before aid can post. Processing can take up to three weeks. Please monitor your IU email account for updates
2. Are you enrolled full-time?
   • No. You must be enrolled full-time before the end of the first week of classes

The only option is to complete summer classes at an Indiana college of university. Please note that there is NO Indiana 21^st Century Scholarship during the summer semester. According to Indiana Code Title 21-12-6-7, failure to satisfy the 30 credit hour requirement may remove you from receiving the Indiana 21 Century Scholarship the following academic year unless you have documentation of health/medical reason.

NO, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) will allow students in their final term to receive a portion of their award for less than full-time enrollment.

Yes. You will need to complete a consortium agreement which is available from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Yes. Students who fall below the minimum standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) will lose all aid eligibility. Students with extenuating circumstances may be eligible to file an appeal with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at IU South Bend.

You will need to submit an appeal to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) to reinstate your scholarship but does not guarantee approval. To file an appeal, please submit an online application.

The 21^st Century Scholarship is a tuition scholarship. Earning the 21^st Century Scholarship provides students up to four years of undergraduate tuition* at any participating public college or university in Indiana.

If a class is passed, but it needs to be repeated to achieve a required grade, do both attempts count toward the yearly number of credits needed? A student can retake a course once to achieve the required grade;

If multiple attempts with passing grades can be used toward the yearly total, are there any limitations? A student can only take a course twice. Grades of D- or higher count as passing.

Yes, A student must petition to the state if they are below credit hour count and/or GPA requirement. There should be an explanation as to why the poor performance occurred mental issues, tragic event, impactful circumstances beyond I just didn’t do my work.
