Partner for Assignments and Presentations
Please consider the options below as excellent ways to provide career development content on a larger scale for your class:
- Create a course assignment: Require or recommend that your students set up an individual appointment to meet with the Office of Professional Engagement to discuss their career goals, internship opportunities, and create a tailored professional development plan. Students are welcome to contact Director of Professional Engagement Erinn Kelley to set up an appointment.
- Office of Professional Engagement Workshops and Events: We offer a variety of career-related workshops and events throughout the year.We would love if you use attendance at our workshops and events as course assignments or extra credit opportunities. You can find Office of Professional Engagement workshops and events on Titan Atlas.
- Classroom Career Presentation: We are happy to present or teach a lesson/class on exploratory career-related content or on the internship search process during your regularly scheduled class time. Please contact Erinn Kelley to discuss this possibility.
- IU EDGE Modules: All IU instructors and student services staff members can incorporate professional development topics into courses and curriculum through Canvas. With EDGE, students can:
- Explore their values, strengths and interests in relation to degrees and careers;
- Develop an academic plan that connects with careers that excite them;
- Graduate with a solid plan for furthering their professional goals; and
- Find employment in a career that they are passionate about!

Partner on the NACE Career Competencies

IU South Bend is committed to transparently emphasizing the NACE Career Competencies embedded in our curriculum to increase student success. As part of this effort, faculty and staff are encouraged to meet with the Office of Professional Engagement to explore how they can update syllabi, assignments, and/or other course materials to more obviously sign-post NACE career learning in their courses. Partner to help Students Research Careers
IU Bloomington has a series of Career Communities that enable students to explore 8 different career paths at a bird's-eye view. Each community contains career guides that are more specific. Students may use these resources to narrow their academic and career plans.
