The Distinguished Teaching Award criteria include:

• having a consistent and long-standing record of outstanding teaching performance as rated by administrators and students,
• implementing effective and innovative teaching techniques that demonstrate the unique ability to motivate student learning,
• demonstrating concern for students and their education as well as preparation for students’ chosen careers, and
• teaching/mentoring students and/or colleagues outside the classroom to enhance learning or to improve teaching, respectively.

Upon receipt of the award, $1,000 will be permanently added to the recipient’s base compensation starting in the subsequent fiscal year.
