The Interview Request

The INTERVIEW REQUEST is the next step in hiring a new faculty member at IU South Bend.

In order to create an INTERVIEW REQUEST, two conditions are needed in order to initiate this next step.

  1. The WORKFLOW STATE needs to be POSTED or REPOSTED

  2.  Your USER GROUP must be DEPT ADMIN

If you are logged in as DEPT ADMIN and select a posting that is in the POSTED or REPOSTED workflow state, select EDIT POSTING

From the POSTING DETAILS, you will now see the INTERVIEW REQUEST FORM along the left side of the posting details. Select/Click the INTERVIEW REQUEST FORM

Select/Click on ADD INTERVIEW REQUEST

Entering Candidates on the Interview Request Form

Enter the following information on the INTERVIEW REQUEST FORM

  • NAME (first and last) and APPLICATION DATE. Since this is a required field, you will need to enter at least one candidate to route to the next level. 
    name and date of applicant
  • To add additional candidates, select ADD INTERVIEW REQUEST ENTRY (this is not limited)

  • Add any DEPARTMENT ADMIN COMMENTS

Search Documents

The SEARCH DOCUMENTS section acts the place where you would have previously added attachments in the eDocLite documents. This SEARCH DOCUMENTS will be a shared repository for the Vacancy Notice, Interview Request, and Waiver Request attachments.

Candidates are not able to view documents in the SEARCH DOCUMENTS section.

Once you have selected a file to upload to one of the above areas, click SAVE & CONTINUE

Summary

The SUMMARY page is the final step before routing the posting in the workflow.

This page gives a summary of all data that has been entered up to this point. It also denotes who created the posting and the current owner in the process. 

There are three tabs:

  • Summary | a summary of the posting information
  • History | this tab give all history of where the posting has been in the process. If there are any notes about the posting, they will be housed here
  • Settings | this tab gives all the information from the first page of the posting process

Finalizing the Interview Request

The final step in the process is to select the orange, "TAKE ACTION ON THE POSTING" button. After carefully reviewing the posting, select/click on this button.

  • MOVE TO SCHOOL APPROVER to route the INTERVIEW REQUEST

  • Once you have submitted the INTERVIEW REQUEST to the SCHOOL APPROVER, ensure that the CURRENT STATUS in the top right now has the status SCHOOL APPROVER–INTERVIEW REQUEST
