Poland
Documentary Photography and Jewish History in Poland 2025
The images photographers take help contemporary artists, researchers, and historians understand the past. Through this study abroad program, you can add your voice to a contemporary dialogue while visiting Wrocław, Krakow, and Warsaw. Trip leaders from the Fine Arts Department and History Department will collaborate to bring you this program.
Through cultural immersion and visual storytelling, this study abroad program focuses on introducing students to key aspects of documentary photography while working on collaborative projects in Poland, a place of rich history and culture. Discover firsthand how history informs our understanding of global issues. Create images and a visual record of your experience and transform your understanding of the world through travel and study.
Background study for our experience will include both readings in history and photography. Some technical skills in image editing and writing will assist in storytelling. Activities include visiting museums and historical monuments as well as contemporary cultural centers. Throughout the trip, students will document the architecture and the place with a personal blog record.
This program is open to all majors and all skill levels.
