RN to BSN | SMC Transfer Pathway to IU South Bend

Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing

All general education courses are to be completed prior to enrollment in RN-BSN completion courses. Students with an earned Bachelor's degree will have satisfied all general education requirements.

All general education courses must have an earned grade of C or higher to count towards the degree. An additional 37 credits in general education courses are required for the degree. These credits typically are transferred from a previously earned degree. 

Once all general education requirements are met, qualified students can enroll in the RN-BSN major courses. With enrollment in NURS B331 (taken first semester of nursing major courses), students will be awarded 35 special credits to their IU record for previous ASN coursework.

  • NURS-S 474 Applied Health Care Ethics
  • NURS-S 475 A Multisystem Approach to the Health of the Community: RNBSN
