All general education requirements are to be completed prior to enrollment in RN-BSN completion courses. Students with an earned bachelor's degree will have all general eduation requirements satisfied.
The required IU South Bend general education courses include (12 cr.):
- ENG-W 131 Reading, Writing, and Inquiry
- SPCH-S 121 Public Speaking
- CSCI-A 106 Introduction to Computing
- Non-Western Cultures/Diversity in the United States elective
All general education courses must have an earned grade of C or higher. An additional earned 37 credits in general education courses are required for the degree. Once all general education requirements are met, qualified students can enroll in the RN-BSN major courses.
With enrollment in NURS-B 331 Transition to Baccalaureate Nursing Practice (first semester of nursing major courses), students will be awarded 35 special credits to their IU record for previous ASN major coursework.
